More Things to Worry About

"I couldn't believe it," said New York City transit driver Peter Williams, after Shelia Bolar bit him on the arm because she was angry that the bus he picked her up in wasn't a hybrid. New York Daily News

The Jurupa Unified School District in southern California may have budget problems now, but they're gonna get worse if new school board member Noreen Considine doesn't start getting addressed as (retired Navy) Captain Considine . . because she's fixin' to sue her colleagues for dissing her. And here's yet another guy run over, fatally, by his own Christine-like vehicle (Greentown, Ind.). WRTV (Indianapolis)

Captain Considine Next she'll want them pronouncing it correctly and having someone pipe her into the room!

Hybrid - Thank God she's just crazy. I've been reading World War Z, and feared theworst.

Capt. Considine - Can she be countersued for having her head up her own ass?

BikerPuppy - Funny you say that, we implemented 2 new software systems here last year and they decided early on that one was basically going to belong to me so the guy from the software company that was here doing our setup and integration said I was the Goddess of that system. It stuck. Now when anyone new is hired I'm introduced as the Adesso (that's the name of the software) Goddess. I like it 😊

That's the beauty of being a civilian...you don't have to recognize anything to do with the military. Until they come for you that is.

Jules -- wow, Goddess is even better than Highness. Congrats!

You will be hearing about more and more women doing this in the future. As times changed women were given higher and higher ranks, and while the males were and are listed and called "Sir/Captain/Grand Poobah/Whatever", women are stilled called Miss/Ms/Mrs and to a lot of them it rankles the senses and is seen as belittling to have their rank ignored.

Maybe the rank wouldn't be ignored if ya'll didn't walk around all day with those breasts and those asses. 😏

It's all good and fine to insist on being called by your rank by your fellow soldiers, but by civilians? No, sorry, get a life.

They should protest by saying annoying things like "argh" and "aye cap'n"!
