Animals Encroaching On Human Territory

Two New York City women were driven batty by nighttime visitors in their new apartment. In fact in addition to being forced out of their home by repeated bat problems, they are also receiving the rabies vaccine. The animals, well known for carrying rabies, had left marks on at least one of the ladies in the night as they slept.

In Washington state a young deer took a tour of a local ER. The fawn walked right in the automatic doors and wandered down a corridor where staff shut it in a dinning hall. They then closed all other doors and herded the animal back out the way it came in. Sad for mama deer though, you know what they say, at least $200 just to walk into the emergency room.

And in Toledo, Ohio the police have discovered the identity of the squirrely little memorial flag bandit. A police lieutenant caught a squirrel making off with one of the flags and even got a picture of the crime. The critter was tracked to its home where at least two other flags were found to be part of the structure. No arrests have been made as yet.

I find the bat story just horrifying. *SHUDDER* They were lucky it was not a male with antlers in the deer story and the squirrel is just adorable. But I am reminded of something I heard a comedian say once (sorry can't recall who) "Rats must be bummed out knowing they are just one bushy tail away from being hand fed in the park."(paraphrased) 😊

And in Idaho the Feds want to restrict all boating on a man made lake to "protect" a bird that isn't on the endangered list and, most likely, isn't even native to the area!

Oh, I forgot to mention that the whole area relies on tourism and hundreds of people have homes on the lake.

These kind of stories are becoming all too common as we destroy the habitat of the wild animals. Cheer up, it could be worse!!!

I hope those people in Idaho win, the Feds are ridiculous.
