Army wants a new gun

Now this is my idea of a proper gun ad. BTW the US military is looking for it's next standard model.
Let's hope it is made in America still. I like the old Colt 1911 .45 ACP or the Glock .45 GAP over any 9mm.

I agree, "thin just ain't right" too many bones and not enough padding.

The Glock 37 was a commercial failure however it is my favorite carry gun. When the ammo shortage hit you could still get all the .45 GAP ammo you wanted. While not having the 17 rounds of a 9mm it does have 10+1. It hits with the power of an older Colt 1911 .45 ACP and has no external safety mech's to get in the way.
Mine has a laser and quick release removable LED flashlight.

@Expat - You gotta have some "pushin' cushion" .. No guy wants to feel the floor underneath 😉

I would perfer the stopping power of the 45 caliber over the extra ammo of the 9 mil. Lots of special force have been carrying the 45 cals instead of the 9 mils in combat. We need to move back to the stopping power that the 45 cal offers.

It's not a gun. It's a firearm.

"This is my rifle.
This is my gun.
With my rifle I shoot.
With my gun I have fun."

@Jeff: Exactly .. if I can't hit with 11 then 17 makes little difference. Also a .45 will stop even if you hit a leg or an arm due to the severity of impact. A 9mm is just a glorified .380 on steroids and FYI the caliber was invented by the Germans in WWII. Another reason I don't want one. The special force marine units went back to the .45 and reject the 9mm to this day.
