Broadway Bound

Broadway Bound is the name given to a brave, or perhaps just very lucky, sea lion by staff at the Sausalito Veterinary Clinic in San Fransisco. Local police received a number of calls from motorists early Saturday morning reporting a sea lion crossing the 8 lane highway 101. Police and animal control arrived and stopped traffic to pick up the injured sea lion and take it for treatment and eventual release in a slightly safer place. It should be noted that Broadway Bound successfully crossed all 8 lanes and was sitting on a stump next to the Broadway off ramp, thus the name.

You know, when I was a nurse aide one of the patients at the facility had been in a persistent vegetative state for 20 years because he did not make it across 7 lanes down south somewhere. Although drugs were involved in that mishap. That animal is either smart or blessed.

Motorists will stop, swerve, and run off the road for a critter but woe unto the hapless pedestrian!

Excellent point Expat. Can't be any worse than skunks that get hit on the road or spray domestic animals ect here KDP.

I think it is bad enough that animals are slaughtered daily on our roads because they don't know any better. But one time I saw a driver swerve to HIT a squirrel deliberately. I had to exercise extreme self control to keep from running the jerk off the road and beating the snot out of him. There is enough death, pain, and suffering in this world already without having people make more.

When I was a teen we had a german shepard mix named Buck. He was 10 or so when he broke his chain and got loose. Some asshole in a pick up swerved to run him down. It was so sad, he was a good old dog. People can be very cruel.
