Does coffee shrink breasts?

A recent study, published in the British Journal of Cancer, found a relationship between breast size and coffee consumption. Namely, coffee (more than three cups a day) can cause women's breasts to shrink. For those who are worried by this idea, the author of the study has reassuring words: "Coffee-drinking women do not have to worry their breasts will shrink to nothing overnight. They will get smaller, but the breasts aren't just going to disappear."

I tracked down the journal article itself, which offered a more nuanced version of the study's findings:

Among healthy premonopausal non-hormone users, 3+ cups per day was associated with lower volume only in C-allele carriers, which is consistent with reports that coffee protects only C-allele carriers against breast cancer.

The good news: hormonal contraceptives counteract the coffee-shrinkage effect. But maybe they would also eliminate coffee's cancer-protecting qualities? (Thanks, Donald!)

The strange thing about this is that the larger a women's breast are, the more they make my penis grow.

Does it matter if I drink coffee?

It has come to my recollection, that a certain female commenter from the Dallas Tx area professed that she is well endowed. My question is..:(and as a matter of disproving this "scientific study") Does she dring coffee?

Maxx, I used to think that way until the day I saw some old lady stripping down on the beach and <shudder>get sand on her nipples. </shudder>

Not that it ain't fun but didn't we already do the coffee vs hooters thing?

Expat, that's why I'll stay right here in the US of A. I don't want to see any old lady stripping down on a beach or anywhere else for that matter. At least here, all I have to do is stay out of the funky, cheesy New Orleans strip clubs.

Personal Preference: The Humps are Fun, But I'm all about Junk In The Trunk. The Day that coffee starts messing with the Trunk, I will personally find a way to crush the entire coffee industry.

avmayes - I'm more of an 'ass and legs' man myself but...after 13 years of marriage I'll take whatever I can get.

Well, except for Expat's old lady stripping on the beach.

I looked, I didn't find a picture of a pancake on someone's (hot girls) ass. Sorry.

Jules - Don't worry, I have a good imagination.

Hey avmayes - I actually DO drink a lot of coffee and the girls don't seem to be going anywhere. Even when I TRY to make them shrink they don't go anywhere. So, I say that this scientific study is nothing but bull. At least for me.

*takes a big drink of her super strong coffee*

KW thanks you for your Scientific Input. So Hypodermically speaking my Hypotenuse has been proven. 😕

KW - As a practioner of science all I can say is thanks for the results.

I do what I have to. For science of course. All in the name of science.

I forwarded this article to my co-workers a couple weeks ago (or at least a similar article dealing with the same study). The morning coffee crowd was quite upset. They turned around, pointed their A-cups, out the door and disappeared.

By the way, the study specifies that half of the women with some specific gene are affected, so it's not for everyone, KW. Although, I'm sure Maxx and avmayes would still like you to post pics of your boobs... purely for scientific consideration, of course, as a baseline.
