Judge Parker’s Gallows

image

Here you see the main attraction at Fort Smith National Park. A recreation of the gallows where Hanging Judge Isaac Parker sent 79 criminals to their death.

And people say kids will get bored at such historical monuments! This makes history come alive! Er, come dead...?

Here's the other selling feature, from the Did You Know? section: Fort Smith National Historic Site completed a major renovation of their Visitor Center in the summer of 2000.

That seals the deal. I'm popping the kids in the car and we're driving 2,000 miles to see that. We can catch the World's Biggest Perogy, Mitchell Corn Palace and Bear Country USA on the way down.

Hey, I really did drive 2000 miles to the Mitchell Corn Palace...

A girl named "Bunny" and a guy named "Harvey" both drove 2,000 miles to see the same ah.... National Treasure.

Now, is that coincidence or leg-pulling?
