Did she mean "Anti-human"? Dictionary.com says "ani" is a black, tropical American cuckoo having a compressed, blade-like bill.

I think she used "ani-" as a combining form for the word "animal". She probably went for Ani-human instead of Man-imal, because that might remind people of the title of the old television series. It's probably copyrighted, for that matter. As a crossword puzzle solver, I see the word ani used in many, many puzzles, with the clue typically being tropical cuckoo.
