One For The Good Guys

While not necessarily weird this story will most certainly be of interest here and on most similar sites across the web. In a recent copyright case the judge ruled against a copyright troll company and ordered them to forfeit all the copyrights they held. Perhaps this vile bit of corporate bullying and blackmail will soon be a thing of the past.

This practice is a dirty little money scheme and I hope these troll companies get what is coming to them. What say you fellow WUvians?

Every now and then some judge screws up and gets one right
--- or ---
Every now and then we run across a judge that believes in justice.

Back in the day, when I was writing code, I thought to apply for copyright for a few of my functions but was discouraged by a lawyer who told me that "the big boys" had people sitting around the copyright office looking for good stuff they could take & use as their own. Change a few lines and call it theirs. An individual can't match the resources they had/have.

Q: What do you call 10,000 trial lawyers on the bottom of the ocean?

A: A good start.

Why only trial lawyers aren't the rest of them good enough for your notice? 😜

Well, I hope so. But, on the other hand, can we trust every judge in the world to tell the difference between a copyright troll company and a legitimate copyright holder? Just asking (as a copyright holder myself).

"Trust" and "The Legal System" have been diametrically opposed for me lo these past years.
