In WWII, the Soviets trained dogs to get their meals under running farm tractors. The plan was to have the dogs carry explosive packs and they would run under the German tanks to destroy them.

Of course, the tanks were so much louder that the scared dogs ran back to their handlers.

BMN: wasn't there also the story that they did train them using tanks - but their own tanks, so that when faced with German tanks and Russian ones, the cats (or dogs) would run under the ones they knew best? Probably an urban myth.
