Sabrage

I've just learned about the art of opening a bottle of champagne with a sword. The practice is called sabrage.

You can watch a video here that teaches you how to do it yourself!

That will really come in handy next time I'm attacked by a champagne bottle!

Big Gary--what's a few glass slivers if it impresses your date?!?

I'm not sharp enough to get the point of this.

Guys! There should be no glass in the bottle! All that fizzy stuff spewing out all over your date/carpet/furniture would have carried any away.

Expat47--that's a point that was made in the video lesson as well....

I guess stepping/sitting on the shards of glass is better than drinking them, however, I will still take the non-hemorrage-enducing old fashioned method thankyouverymuch

Jules--in the end, I;m with you. Convenience over spectacle.

Dumbfounded--did he ever teach you the technique as well?

Jules - I don't think anyone in their right mind would ever let you and I handle alcohol AND sharp objects at the same time...

KW - hahahaha you are SO right! It's sick how well you know me :cheese:

Right...where's my sabre? And someone bring me a bottle of champers!

No need to provide a girl, since I am the girl...

Jules - it's just because you and I seem to have a LOT in common! 😊

Dumbfounded--this is not what Edward Abbey had in mind when he invented the term "monkeywrenching!"
