They thought forcing him to write would teach him sobriety, and yet so many writers are alcoholics.

So, an assistant D.A. has to teach him to read and write, and then someone has to count to make sure he writes "sobriety" 1,000 times, every day for one year. Kind of makes me wonder who is actually being punished.
