Twinkie Facts

Twinkies are only good for 25 days, not 25 years. They do have preservatives, but really are just a baked, filled cake. Twinkies started out with banana filling and changed to vanilla during WWII when bananas were hard to get. These and other Twinkie factoids are available at the link.

Great-grandma always said, "Don't believe anything you read and only half of what you see." The is just a conspiracy to sell more Twinkies.

Bingles aren't as good as they may sound. As a grocery store manager, I sampled many of the delights as they passed their use-by dates. Twinkies last longer than 25 days still soft (3 months is the record that I know of) but Bingles taste like raw pancake batter.
