The economy's fine in West Virginia
If it weren't, would state Delegate Jeff Eldridge have the optimism to introduce a bill to ban sales of Mattel's Barbie and similar dolls (on the ground that they contribute to making girls turn out different than Eldridge would like to see them turn out)? [Ed.: Besides, what's an intellectually barren girl who's was born aesthetically pleasing supposed to do, anyway? Get fat (like in Mauritania, See Below)? Smash herself in the face with a crowbar?] Associated Press via WSAZ-TV (Huntington, W.Va.)

Gary, as long as lawyers are making the laws they're going to be vague and ambiguous. How else are they going to make money if/when they are voted out of office?

Ban Barbie? How about Ford Mustangs, Dodge Vipers, and Corvettes? These cars don't fit into the mold of "normal" cars.

Ah, hell, let's just outlaw politicians. They don't fit the mold of "normal" people.

I think Delegate Jeff Eldridge needs to be banned.

Isn't there a mixed message being sent out? We keep hearing about how children today are more overweight then ever but yet we worry about how a skinny doll affects little girls self-images.

At least they're trying to help people, even if it's misguided. The Mississippi legislature is all tied up over mutilated white oak trees.

I think if ANYTHING is affecting my daughter's self-esteem, it's Gossip Girl and The Hills. Can we ban snooty too-skinny chicks?

Where's the chain smoking, orange fingers stained by cheese puffs Barbie with rollers in her big hair? Toss in a few plastic snot-nosed babies with dirty diapers and there'd be a lot less girls who want to be like Barbie.

Maybe he'd feel more at home with this:

My friends in WU who are indeed from West Virginia and may be in a trailer park, you know this is meant only with love and sarcasm. For everyone else, just sarcasm.
