William Hamilton Bones, Washington Goat

Here is a picture of a goat who came to live among high-powered Washington, DC, politicians in the year 1929.

You can read the full story of the goat's dazzling ascent to power here.

But like many Washington insiders, he had an unwholesome addiction that led to his downfall. Find out what it was here.

I think we need a goat today in DC to add a proper sense of absurdity to proceedings.

We have enough randy old goats in DC as it is. No need for more. But you could have a lot of fun with this sort of thing: a sheep to represent the sheeple, for example. I could easily be persuaded that the Capitol needs a poo-flinging monkey.

Canny Scot, was that poo-flinging monkey comment a reference to Obama and his simian-like auditory appendages? LOL

Hey now, his ears aren't any bigger than Prince Charles's.

I compared the goat to the Kardashians. Like them he was famous because he was famous.

This really is weird -- especially because Washington DC is known for asses
