Caylee Sunshine Doll

Chuck has posted a couple of times about slain F state toddler Caylee Marie Anthony. Now a Jacksonville company is coming out with a Caylee tribute doll. It's called the Caylee Sunshine Doll. On sale for only $29.99. It sings the song "You Are My Sunshine" when you push her belly button.

But the company doesn't want anyone to think it's trying to profit from tragedy, or that producing such a doll is kind of sick and twisted. After all, the company points out that the doll doesn't look exactly like Caylee. If it did, that would be "too morbid and difficult for the public."

I thought I read somewhere that the company decided not to release the doll for sale.

I'm waiting for the Holocaust Kids dolls to come out.
They come with their own Star of David.
They don't crap their pants like other dolls because you never feed them.
Also, when you get too old for them, they can be discarded by putting them into the oven.

It'll be great.

The company plans on donating a "portion" of the proceeds to charity. Unless that portion is 100%, this doll should be boycotted.

somehow the 'family' would need to give permission for this, and somehow, there must be compensation involved. profiting from the death of your (grand)child????

This is beyond tasteless. So much so that I don't even know what to say!

This only confirms my belief that most big corporations are soulless monsters that twist the views of the public for their own gains.

Guilty! (even if this isn't Daily Jury Duty) 😠

Matt, are you saying that profiting off the popularity of the victim in a child murder case is somehow in poor taste?

that's just so... twisted.

OH! I had forgotten about that one. I was only 17 at the time.
Wow, they really are cold and callous.
