no freakin' way would i do that. that takes brass ones. there is a place called deer creek close by where there are a lot of catfish. story goes- a pickup goes off a bridge and the driver doesn't come up. divers go down and find the truck (driver is inside) but they come up freaked out and refuse to go back down. they say there are catfish big enough to swallow a man down there. urban legend? i don't know, but i understand that catfish will grow as large as the size of their environment and food supply will allow. also, a catfish is a scavenger and will eat anything its mouth is large enough to swallow. they are bottom feeders and stay deep too.

No, I grew up along (on?) the Mississippi and the barges that ply the river chop up the big ones when they get into the channel. I've seen heads floating in the river the size of which fit on some real monsters.
