It seems something was lost in the translation. I googled "snails in Hungarian cuisine" and came up with no mention of the actual gastropods (other than one breathless headline "Hungarian ancestors ate snails!"). More likely, snails in this context are a pastry, a la this link: https://zsuzsaisinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2011/11/cocoa-snails-with-puff-pastry.html
