Stereopticon

Let us know when you bail. The visuals start after 45 seconds.

“Stereopticon treats sense data or phenomena as the root of structured
thought. It is not in the line of experimental films which present
visual and audial phenomena as matter directly perceived. Instead
Stereopticon delineates its own structure by means of a moving interposed
view point and counter viewpoint : by continuous motion it implies or
circumscribes a complete cosmology. The structure is musical and circular,
rather than dramatic and linear, and is constructed of six movements and mood cycles...”

It gave me motion sickness, with a strong impulse to hurl on it.

I'll admit to skipping forward and sampling the film. This reminds me of some of Frank Zappa's work, especially an album titled "Uncle Meat", which was described as a soundtrack to a movie never made. For this one it would probably help if you have a bong hit or two before you start.

I dug a little and found that the author of this film was named Andy Fahrenwald. He apparently was a resident of Sutter Creek, CA., born in 1942 and died in 2013. The obituary, written by his wife, reads like a typical description of a California free spirit.

That's 12:32 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

I would have bailed long, long, long before that (probably around the two minute mark), but I collect odd little movies and so went to the archive site and started downloading it. As soon as the download finished, so was I.
