Sued over mean snake

December 1971: Rae Adler, 28, sued the Critterville pet store, accusing them of selling her a "mean snake," unsuitable as a pet. It bit her the day after she brought it home, causing a toxic reaction.

Unfortunately I can't find how this suit turned out.

Well, it's Mexafornia and stupidity is legal out there so she probably got her money.

BTW, there is a FB page for a Critterville but it's pretty stark.

Use this as case history for suing a mother-in-law???

Obviously Rae handled this wrong. When disciplining your snake you need to tap it gently on the nose with a rolled up tissue and say, "Bad snake. No! No!"

Yeah, if those people out in California get any dumber they┬┤ll be mistaken for Greeks (or Floricubans)

I agree, FUD, it's a close thing but there's just so, so many of them that we have to bow to superior numbers.

I'll bet the suit turned out badly. Just think how many snakeskins it would take to make a suit, even one that left the wearer scantily-clad. Then add the tailor's fee and the cost of color-coordination. Would the plaintiff want the suit to be green like the original snake?

She traded it for a cuddly furry friendly tarantula.

Another very important lawsuit was the one where a woman was victimized by a pharmacy. Their act of gross negligence was locating the strawberry jelly only one aisle from the contraceptive jelly. The poor woman got sick as well as pregnant, so naturally, sued the evil pharmacy for many 1000's of $. And probably won.

Maybe expat, but then when your racism is figured in you win by a country mile.

So, now Mexafornian is a race?

Maybe it was hungry. The first thing our parents insisted on when we brought home a new snake was to make sure if was fed before we could even think of playing with it.
