$64,000 was a lot of money for a house in the 1950s. My parents paid $12k for their house back then, in a neighborhood where houses now routinely sell for $250k.

Only it's size prevents it from suffering the same problem as any other dome -- you can't properly arrange furniture or use standard cabinets because lines-of-sight are off and the walls aren't straight.
