A couple of years ago, I read where the cops arrested a bunch of people with outstanding warrants by sending the perps a notice they'd won a new tv. When they showed up to claim their prize, all they got were police bracelets.

Phideaux, I saw that sting operation (or one like it) on some TV program. They bagged a huge number of perps; the cops were most pleased about it.
