I saw a few that stirred some memories. The "Bridget Loves Bernie" with David Birney and Meredith Baxter was a favorite of mom's.

Looks like someone envisaged Diana Rigg as Mary Tyler Moore 2.0

I recall seeing bits of three of these in my childhood: "The King and I" TV reboot, former millionaire couple start a new life as domestic servants in 'The Good Life' (not the UK one) (even Larry Hagman couldn't make it funny), and a Jewish girl and Catholic boy try to keep romance going despite parental skepticism in 'Bridget and Bernie'. I only watched the first episode of the last but this "joke" is seared into my memory: Bridget explains to her mother over phone that new boyfriend isn't quite what she might expect; arrives at mother's house after being given lift by black friend, whom mother observes from window, making wrong assumption. Hilarious! Cut to Bridget explaining to weeping mother that it's OK, new boyfriend is actually only a Catholic. Seriously.

Maybe it got better. Or I'm remembering it wrong; you know what they say about narrative memory.
