It helps that your razor be as sharp as possible, also. A girlfriend used to use my razors on her legs, because she was too lazy to buy her own when she needed replacements, and I paid the price. OUCH!

Maybe your girlfriend didn't want to pay the pink tax. I always shave with a men rasor and it's much cheaper. The real problem is the scents in the shaving creams. It's always stuff like "Varech Invasion", "Industrial pine cleaner" or "Pepe The Pew's Musk". I had an ex who used women's shaving cream for this reason.
A good slogan for the Listerine shaving cream would be "Don't treat your face like a mother-in-law".

That scene in North By Northwest, where Cary Grant is shaving in a public men's room with a little women's razor, has always stuck in my mind. Great comic relief by the master director Hitchcock.
