I bowled in a league as a kid and my kids did to for a while. Its fun but I can't anymore because it messes up my wrist. Fun while drinking too!

In summer, before anyone in our neighborhood had AC, on those few super hot, humid days when we got too sweaty after riding bikes all morning and our moms threatened us with either finding something to do or having to clean our basements, we kids would either go to the AC'd bowling alley (and bowl if we had money or watch others if we didn't) or else go a couple blocks farther to the AC'd hospital and up to the maternity ward where we'd look at the newborn babies in the display case. I recently found myself in a bowling alley for an event and the smell / sound memory took me right back to those days. Not so on my latest visit to a maternity ward, though. No more display cases!

I set pins back in the 60's. Back in the pit is where the action all takes place. 16lbs of rubber smashing into 10 plastic coated missiles just under your legs is some SERIOUS excitement.

I noticed that the ads showed the bowlers with their fingers buried up to the 2ed joint! Today it all about finger-tip control.
