The caption reminds me so much of the scene where a man is strapped into an electric chair, a guard is ready to throw the switch, and a chaplain and the warden are standing near him. The warden has a small bag and says: "Would you mind holding this pack of microwave popcorn? We have a little bet going on."

Interestingly enough, a couple of years later than Simon and Garfunkel's Big Bright Green Pleasure Machine, which contains the lyrics "electrify your life", not "wife". Was either of those a standard phrase back then?
