German Rocket Car

First attempt: OK. Second attempt: not so much. The way they are covering up the car with a tarp at the end does not bode well for the fate of the driver.

What was it about the cat? I would like to think that that wasn't the passenger in the second part of the film.

I surmise this is the RAK 3 mentioned in the Wikipedia article. Since it ran on railway tracks, it didn't really need a driver. Perhaps the cat was like the monkeys in the first space flights.

On Run One, it looks like the rockets burned through the bodywork. Run Two finished the job and cost the passengers, man and cat, their lives.

Definitely a Darwin Award nominee, especially considering the looks of the bodywork after the 1st run.
