Another fascinating piece of history from the archives of the Chicago Tribune. By the way, I want to thank you for making me aware of that website. I have used it many times, most recently for a project for my county historical research center. (I live on the lake shore about 150 miles north of Chicago, so local people and events have often been newsworthy enough to have been covered by the Tribune.)

I wish I could cultivate a mustache like the Captain. The city did right by them by naming a street for the couple. I'd be interested to know how many native Chicagoans know the origin of the name for Streeter Drive?
