Creepy Centipede

Doesn't this supposedly whimsical and charming kids' fantasy illustration show undertones of weird horror? An obscene alien monster keeps a human female slave..... Shades of Jabba the Hutt and Slavegirl Leia!

i totally agree paul. there is something more disturbing than whimsical about it. a quick qlance at the link gives the impression that small and weak serving large and sometimes grotesque is a theme in the artist's work. not all of it but much of it it seemed on cursory examination.

The kid doesn't look a thing like Princess Lea! I should know, I've watched that segment of the movie way more than once! 😛

But, seriously, "Fairy Tales" and "Kiddie Stories" never have really been too healthy by today's standards. I remember a book from my childhood entitled Mr. Bear Squash You All Flat. Such a happy theme for a tyke to enjoy.
