My son is 10 and I wouldn't let him watch Alien. The bad acting would scar him for life.

That is hands down the coolest action figure ever. It even beats Voltron. They don't make them like that anymore and if they do you have to buy them from fat guys with glasses and goatees.

Alien was a solid movie. Aliens, the sequel is better in my opinion. IMDB has Alien at #44 and Aliens at #54? Maybe the foreign audience liked part 1 over part 2? I've always thought part 2 was better.

Cameron directed the first two. Fincher directed 3, arguably the worst of the franchise excluding Alien vs Predator movies. Not sure how a guy with no experience in sci-fi/action movies gets the financial backing to follow up two hallmark movies. Fincher did direct Fight Club and Se7en but I really don't think the directing of those movies was exemplary. There are just extremely well written. Fincher appears to be a good oppotunist. He is directing the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo which has already done extremely well in internationally. And who better to direct the 4th installment of Aliens than the director of Amelie, Jean Pierre Jeunet. Part 4, Alien resurrection, was masterfully filmed but the pacing and and plot made it hard to follow. Four was underrated.
