Apparently, this commercial featuring a guy in a tent filled with biting insects has attained a certain minor cult status I was not aware of.

The original is in the first video at the 3:40 mark.

Here's the guy, now revealed to be Bill Clement, still stuck in the tent fifteen years later.

But most recently, he (or a younger surrogate) finally gets to come out of the tent--and he's got a sexy woman with him. That's progress!

The shirtless guy in the tent with ten thousand mosquitoes, I could believe. You always get those pesky mosquitoes in your tent, no matter how new it is or how well you close it. That the guy uses one of the worst insect repellents on the market and doesn't get bit, I can believe as well. Some people could stroll naked in a cloud of mosquitoes and never get bit. But that the woman doesn't get bit? Now that's unbelievable. When you're standing next to a natural mosquito repellent, you become a magnet for mosquitoes. This woman must have thousands of mosquito bites and all their next vacations together will be as far from the woods as possible.

Well, it doesn't keep her off. Perhaps they are working on combining it with a Viagra commercial.
